Their face move closer towards each other, lips tighten slowly giving the first kiss they both gave to each other. 3 years ago, Ken and Jeslynn walking side by side to their class for their first lesson in Polytechnic. "Welcome to Music and Audio School", the signs out there to welcome the people in, Ken and Jeslynn were secondary school friends, they're very close with each other, both had same interest, both had the same goal and dream, but it shattered when Joel came along Jeslynn's life. When they're in secondary 3, Ken fall in love with Jeslynn, giving her so many hint, she didn't know that Ken had a crush on her.
Both Ken and Jeslynn met Joel when they joined tennis club for their CCA, Joel always wore trendy shirt, spike up his hair, putting perfume where girls would talk about how good it was when they walked past each other and the branded shoes he always wore. He's just simply a chick magnet, but was never a popular kid.
When they getting more and more closer with each other, Ken start to wear what Joel had wore, getting more and more better in fashion, Joel also given him some tip for fashion, like what hairstyle to style with that face shape of his.
One day, they planned to go to a pool outlet to celebrate their first victory on tennis. Joel was very good in pool, the way he stand, his stance, his chin on the cue, aiming for the ball and he shoot, the ball went into the pot. While Ken and Joel were playing with each other, Jeslynn was sitting down on one corner waiting for her turn and also looking at their gameplay. Suddenly, someone greeted her, "Hi, I'm sorry to be rude but I can't help but admire your beauty"

"Hey! Tyson! Flirting with girls arh!? Hahaha!" One of his friend shouted at him opposite of the table where Ken and Joel played. "Do you mind giving me your phone number and we can get to know each other more?" Tyson said.
"Erm, I'm sorry, I don't know you well."
"Oh come on..." He trying to be persistent to get her phone number
Joel couldn't take it and stopped the game, "hey, she doesn't want to give you her number, please stop harassing her"
"Oh come on! Is just a phone number!" Tyson shouted angrily. Tyson's friends from the other table walked towards him as well as Ken and Joel. "Hey bro! We're just asking for her number, there's nothing wrong... oh why not, we have a game, and if we win, we get her number, and if you lose, we won't disturb you ever again."
Ken unable to speak up, standing behind them holding the cue stick. "Sure! You have to keep your word" Joel accept his challenge.
Joel breaks the ball first, he bend over with his cue aiming at the ball, pulling it back and hit it. Two stripes ball went into the pot, still is his turn. He aimed at the nearest stripes ball, hit and went in. Ken was standing beside Jeslynn, he's taking a glance at her... she's giving Joel support, her hands were cheering for him and eyes were only on him. Joel win without the opponent playing it once, they made a promised and didn't disturb them again. Joel puts out his hand and want to shake their hand as a good sportsmanship, they returned a handshake.
Slowly, Joel getting more closer with Jeslynn while Ken was always behind her like a dog, following her wherever she goes. As more time goes by, Jeslynn always hang out with Joel after lesson. Asking Ken if he want to come along, he refused every single time she asked, unable to tell her his feeling when he want to tell how jealous he was. "Jes..." he stopped his word
"Yes?"
"Nothing... have fun there" He gave her a force smile which she didn't noticed it was fake.
"Bye!" She went off happily.
2016, March 16, it was Jeslynn's birthday, she planned a birthday party at her house, while she was entertaining the other people, Ken and Joel were at the balcony drinking beer, Joel confessed that he liked Jeslynn, Ken was surprised, his mouth became wide, shoulder tensed up and mind went blank.
"Yeah... she's really pretty and you were quite close with her isn't it? Do you know what kind of gift she like?" Joel asked.
He turned his head to the other side, thinking, but wasn't thinking what she like but what Joel like, he like Jeslynn. "Ken?" He said again.
"Err... I don't know... but she likes guy who give effort in something... I'm sorry but I just remembered something urgent and I need to go... please tell Jeslynn for me" he paused every time he speaks, voice start to scratch and run away from his problem.
January 5 2017, Ken and Jeslynn were in a music studio practicing the song that they've been learning. "I really love this song, just by listening to the beat, like wow! And you got read the lyrics? Even though is in Japanese but if you read the English lyrics, it's really meaningful!"
Ken looked at the music score in front of him,
"Chiisana koi no uta"
After their practice, as usual, she went to meet up with Joel, this time, he took a bit of courage and tried to stop her. "Jeslynn! You want to go to the cafe with me?"
"Now?"
"Yeah..."
"Okay sure!"
Ken was happy at the moment, mood flys to the top of the mountain, happiness rush into his vein but destroyed with just one sentence.
"I'll ask Joel to join us okay?"
The glass had shattered
"Err... wait!" Nervousness rammed into him, mind blank as a piece of white paper, he said out his heart out loud, "I... I... I WANT YOU TO GO OUT WITH ME ONLY!" He shouted...
Jeslynn eyes went wide open "Bu...but I had planned with Joel..."
Ken slowly put down his head, looking down on the floor, clenching his fist, closing the window of his heart as he's about to cry, holding back his tears, he softly said to her," is okay... we can go next time..." He looked back to her, forcefully gave her the biggest smile he gave it to her and walked away.
There's a workshop in his school, it's about making a music box and add their favorite song in it. Coincidentally, Ken came acrossed the poster, he had an idea, without any further thinking he signed up for a 5 days course. Building a very beautiful box made out of wood, he learnt how to make when the box is open, the music will be switched on and off when the box is closed. He didn't did a great job during the workshop however he had the basic knowledge about it, once it was over, he went to find unused wood, and brought it back home, placed it on his desk and start to build.
February 13, he opened up the music box, music start to play, a familiar song to Jeslynn, "Chiisana koi no uta..." As the song plays, Ken slowly start to hum the song then sing out the lyrics out coordinating with the peaceful melody and beat. After all that effort, he wrapped it up with a lovely pinkish color and with different pattern of flowers, then he puts a ribbon on top on it. He got a messaged from Jeslynn, "Hey Ken, tomorrow want to hang out at the cafe that we always go? We didn't went there quite a long time :D"
Replying her instantly, "Sure! What time?"
"8pm, there's valentine special, it's cheap during that time!"
14 February 2017, wearing black shirt with a black jeans, he styled his hair, putting on perfume and wear his new bought shoes. He looked at his watch, it was 7:48pm, he's late and quickly took the present and head out.
He looked at his watch again, 8:16pm, there's no message from Jeslynn as well, he saw Jeslynn standing outside the cafe, when Ken was about to call her, Joel came out from the cafe, he dressed formally, buttoned long sleeve shirt, a striped tie and a business pants and shoes. Ken hid behind at the closest pillar.
He slowly move his head out, spying on the two of them...
both of them wore very beautifully, like a real couple, getting closer with each other, facing leaning closer to one another, both closed their eyes as their lips getting closer to each other and kissed. Ken, stunned, leaving with tears running down from his eyes and disappointed at himself, he strolled around the area and end up in a playground, he climbed up at the playground, sat down and start to unwrapped the present. He opened the box and the music starts to play, holding back his tears he listen to the music, he sing with his eyes closed... following the melody... when the song hit the chorus...
"Hora... *sniff* anata ni totte, *sniff*" Tears running down like a stream of waterfall, eyes were getting reddish as he sing further,
"Daiji na hito hodo sugu soba ni iru no... Tada, anata ni dake, todoite hoshii, hibike koi no uta..."
His phone vibrating, it was from Jeslynn, he didn't look at his phone, ignoring and continue with the song.
"Hora~ Hora~ Hora~a~a.... Hibeke koi no uta ..."
